2000 Chevrolet Venture Brake Line Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to Service and Repair a Brake Line on 2000 Chevrolet Venture?
A: To fix the brake lines and hoses you should first disconnect the right rear brake pipe and the left rear brake pipe from their abs modulator placement before plugging the abs modulator outlets to avoid brake fluid leakage. First take off the air filter and then detach the brake pipes from their upper retainers. Support the vehicle during servicing and remove brake pipe(s) by disconnecting them from intermediate brake hose(s) at all four locations (underbody front, intermediate front, intermediate rear, and rear). You can replace brake pipes by first cutting the brake pipe and then removing brake pipe fitting components while removing retainer pieces. Reuse any hardware only when it remains undamaged. Use double-walled steel brake pipe for new installations to prevent system breakdown and place pipes with their original fixings in their proper routing. Attach the brake pipe retainers while fitting the parts and use flaring tools to shape the hose ends before following the original brake pipe path through bending. Route the brake pipe to underbody, intermediate rear and front, intermedate brake hoses to fix in place with retainer brackets then tighten fittings to 21 nm torque. Move the vehicle down to the ground before fitting the right rear brake pipe and left rear brake pipe into the abs modulator then tightening them both to 21 nm (15 ft. Lbs.). Set the brake pipes into their upper retainers afterward bleed the brake system and reinstall the air filter unit before filling the brake reservoir and performing hydraulic brake system bleeding.
