2000 Chevrolet Venture Brake Drum Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the brake drum on 2000 Chevrolet Venture?
A: Start by unlocking the parking brake and raising the vehicle while supporting it beneath. Record how the Brake Drum fits with the hub before taking out the tire and wheel. Take off the Brake Drum when you can remove and get rid of the retaining clip. When the drum is hard to take off start by disconnecting the Parking Brake Cable and drawing out the back up hole plug. Insert a flat tool to unhook the self-adjuster mechanism while you loosen the adjuster screw by accessing the backing plate through its provided opening. Reinstalling and testing the access hole plug as protection against dirt entry you should then apply slight penetrating oil around the Brake Drum center and remove the part. Place the Brake Drum marks against the hub marks and put the Brake Drum back into place before retaping the tire wheel back on and lowering the vehicle.
