• Q: How to service and repair the front wheel bearing/hub on 2000 Chevrolet Venture?

  A: Before starting work on the front Wheel Bearing/hub you need to lift the vehicle up and place supports under it. Take off the tire and wheel. Disconnect the Wheel Speed Sensor electrical connection and take its bracket down from its position. Take out the Brake Caliper Bracket with both brake caliper and brake rotor attached. After removing the wheel shaft nut, connect j 28733-b front hub spindle remover (J 28733-B) onto the Wheel Bearing by threading three wheel nuts. The j 28733-b tool removes the wheel drive shaft through the Wheel Bearing hub and you can discard the Wheel Bearing bolts while keeping the boot seal intact. Put the new Wheel Bearing/hub in place using new fasteners because airline parts could result in steering or braking failure. When installed put new torque on the Wheel Bearing/hub bolts at 130 nm (96 ft. Lbs.). Afterwards add the wheel drive shaft nut on. Install the brake components back into position and make sure the connector mate perfectly to the bracket. Mount the Wheel Speed Sensor electrical connector back onto its bracket and connect the electrical connector to its proper location. Put the tire and wheel on last as you lower the vehicle back down.
