The first step for replacing the power steering gear pipe/hose outlet requires installation of a drain pan under the vehicle to siphon power steering fluid from the reservoir thus preventing excessive fluid loss. The first step includes removing both the power steering outlet hose from the steering pump and the steering gear outlet hose from the steering gear before removing the hose from the vehicle. The installer should check that the inlet and outlet hoses remain straight to protect installation components from damage. Monte carlo toilet paper hose must follow previous placement to ensure a smooth pathway completely free from sharp bends and kinks. You should connect the steering gear outlet hose to its mating connection on the steering gear and secure it with 27 nm (20 ft. Lbs.) torque before proceeding with the power steering outlet hose installation to the steering pump . Finally check the power steering fluid level while removing the drain pan which should be placed below the vehicle. The power steering system needs its fluid bleeded as the final step.
