  • Q: How to replace the MAP Sensor on 2001 Buick Century?
A: To replace the Manifold Absolute Pressure (MAP) sensor, always start by turning OFF the ignition. Unscrew the fixing screws that secure the MAP sensor to the bracket and then remove the MAP sensor's electric connector and MAP inlet vacuum hose. Once you take out the MAP sensor from the bracket, take the new MAP sensor and place it in the bracket's placement. Connect the MAP inlet vacuum hose and the MAP sensor electrical connector, while observing the Fastener Notice in Service Precautions. Last, put in the screws and tighten them to 3 N.m (27 lb in).
