2001 Buick Century Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the Throttle Position Sensor on 2001 Buick Century?
A: Start the replacement process of the throttle position (TP) sensor by turning off ignition then removing the air intake duct. Rephrase the following sentence. The installation process begins by severing the evap purge line and fuel lines and removing the connector attached to the tp sensor. Begin by stripping the two tp sensor fasteners after removing the tp sensor with its attached o-ring. Place the o-ring onto the tp sensor before installing it on the Throttle Body assembly while applying thread-locking compound from loctite(R) 262 or gm p/n 1052624 or equivalent to the fasteners. Tighten the tpm sensor screws until torque reaches 2.0 n.m (18 lb in) before you can reconnect the electrical connector to the tpm sensor along with the evap purge line then fuel lines. Reposition the air intake duct as the last step.
