2001 Buick LeSabre Shock Absorber Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Replace a Shock Absorber on 2001 Buick LeSabre?
A: The Shock Absorber replacement begins by lifting and supporting the vehicle while taking off the tire and wheel assembly. A jack stand should support the Control Arm as the automatic level control air tube needs disconnecting from the shock. Start the procedure by removing the lower Shock Absorber retaining bolts before extracting the trunk trim to reach the upper mounting nuts of the Shock Absorber. The first step involves removing the upper Shock Absorber cover before you take off both upper Shock Absorber retaining nuts and the upper Shock Absorber reinforcement to extract the shock from the vehicle. The first step for installation includes setting up the Shock Absorber alongside its reinforcement and retaining nuts until the upper Shock Absorber retaining nuts reach 20 nm (15 ft. Lbs. Torque). Proceed by installing both the upper Shock Absorber cover along with the trunk trim. Build up the installation by connecting the automatic level control air tube to the shock then tightening the lower Shock Absorber retaining bolts to 24 nm (18 ft. Lbs.). You should install the tire and wheel once the vehicle lowers itself to the ground.
