2000 Buick LeSabre Shock Absorber Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How to service the shock absorber on 2000 Buick LeSabre?
A: A proper service of the Shock Absorber begins by elevating the vehicle to receive support. Submit the tire and wheel assembly to exposure before you raise the Control Arm with a jack stand for support. Loosen the elc air tube connection from the shock while you remove the two hardware securing the shock to the Control Arm. Start by removing trunk trim and moving forward to expose shock upper mounting nuts before proceeding to take off the cover, two nuts and reinforcement on top of the shock to extract the shock unit from the vehicle. When installing the shock you should start by placing the shock and reinforcement along with the two nuts before tightening the mounting nuts to 20 nm (15 ft. Lbs.). Begin by putting on the shock cover then placing the trunk trim into position; proceed to install the shock-to-Control Arm bolts at 24 nm (18 ft. Lbs.). First connect the elc air tube to the shock then reinstall the tire and wheel assembly while making sure wheel nuts reach a torque value of 140 nm (100 ft. Lbs.). Finally, lower the vehicle.
