2000 Buick LeSabre Air Suspension Compressor Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the Air Suspension Compressor on 2000 Buick LeSabre?
A: The first step when replacing an Air Suspension Compressor is to lift up the vehicle. A clean-up operation should precede Air Hose disconnection both from the intake Air Filter and the Air Suspension Compressor because this prevents elc system dirt entry. First disconnect the air tube from the air dryer before removing the bolt and harness tie together with the air tube from the Air Suspension Compressor bracket. First remove the intake Air Filter followed by disconnecting the vehicle harness connector from the Air Suspension Compressor connector and unfastening both nuts and bolt and Air Suspension Compressor assembly from the vehicle. Start by sliding the Air Suspension Compressor connector away from the connector anchor. Then remove two bolts and the heat shield from the Air Suspension Compressor bracket until you can detach the Air Suspension Compressor assembly from the bracket through three bolts. Separate the air dryer from the Air Suspension Compressor and detach the Air Hose from two compressor locations before unscrewing the two Air Suspension Compressor brackets. Attach the two brackets to the Air Suspension Compressor by using two screws that require a torque setting of 7 nm (62 inch lbs.). You need to connect the Air Hose at two points to the Air Suspension Compressor before adding the air dryer on top. Secure the Air Suspension Compressor assembly on the bracket through three bolts which must be tightened to 3 nm (26 inch lbs.). Mount two bolts on the Air Suspension Compressor bracket heat shield while keeping the third heat shield bolt installation for after the air tube connection and tighten both bolts to 4 nm (35 inch lbs.). Reconnect the Air Suspension Compressor connector to its anchor point before mounting the Air Suspension Compressor assembly on the vehicle with two nuts and a bolt and tightening all components to 9 nm (80 inch lbs.). Proceed to connect the harness connector with the Air Suspension Compressor connector before installing the Air Filter and attaching the air tube to the air dryer. Connect the air tube and harness tie to the Air Suspension Compressor bracket through the bolt while tightening it to 4 nm (35 inch lbs.). Drivers need to activate the ignition before allowing 45 seconds of wait time for residual air pressure to enter the shock absorbers before they lower the vehicle.
