2001 Buick Park Avenue Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) on 2001 Buick Park Avenue?
A: The j 39194 Oxygen Sensor wrench (J 39194) serves as the fundamental tool to replace heated oxygen sensors (HO2S). Start by performing these changes: turn off the ignition switch and use supports to hold the vehicle up. The first step removes the splash shield and then removes the ho2s electrical connector retaining tab from the ho2s electrical connector . Separate the Oxygen Sensor connector from its connection on the ho2s electrical connector. You should eliminate oxygen sensors from the system if engine temperature reaches 48°c (120°F) or more because doing otherwise will create difficulties during removal. The j 39194 will be used for extracting the Oxygen Sensor from the Exhaust Pipe. Before installing the Oxygen Sensor use special anti-seize compound on its threaded sections; new sensors already have this compound pre-installed. An anti-seize compound is already applied to new service sensor components but reused sensors need coating with p/n 5613695 anti-seize compound or equivalent substances. Thread the Oxygen Sensor into the Exhaust Pipe and apply 41 n.m (30 lb ft) of torque to it. Reinstall the ho2s retaining tab into the ho2s electrical connector before connecting the ho2s connector to this electrical connection. Reposition the front splash shield then lower the vehicle to the ground.
