How to replace the Air Bag Sensor for Side Impact on 2001 Cadillac Catera?

Begin SIS replacement by first disabling the SIR system. Begin by removing both the front door trim panel and the front door water deflector. Remove the SIS from the mounting plate by disconnecting the SIS wiring harness connector and removing the two TORX® screws. Attach the SIS to the mounting plate by following the Fastener Notice in Service Precautions then secure it with two TORX® screws tightened to 5 N.m (45 lb in). Enable the SIR system when you are done by reconnecting the SIS wiring harness connector along with reinstalling the front door water deflector and front door trim panel.
