How to replace the rear axle lower control arm bushings on 2001 Cadillac Catera?

A proper bushing replacement procedure begins by lifting and supporting the vehicle before tire removal and wheel detachment. Start by removing the rear axle lower Control Arm before you trim off the inboard bushing collar and follow it with a cut on the outboard lower Control Arm's rubber collar. Replace the bushing with help from a 30 mm socket and Control Arm bushing installer (J 21474-01) and rear Control Arm bushing bolt (J 42200). Before installing new bushings apply lubrication for smooth insertion then place the inboard bushing collar facing the rear Differential direction. When pressing the new bushing into place use a 30 mm socket alongside Control Arm bushing installer (J 21474-5) and rear Control Arm bushing bolt (J 42200). Mostly follow the installation order with the outboard side bushing receiving silicone spray before setting it up using a 30 mm socket, Control Arm Bushing installer (J 21474-5), and rear Control Arm bushing bolt (J 42200) to push in the new bushing. The vehicle requires replacement of the rear axle lower Control Arm followed by tire and wheel reinstallation with vehicle height adjustment.
