  A: Begin replacing the j55 front brake pads only when you have reviewed the brake master cylinder fluid level. Drain the fluid if it stands above the center mark between highest and lowest usable marks. Take measurements between the wheel and axle flange before taking off the tire and wheel set. Place a large c-clamp over the caliper to compress its pistons into the caliper bore, which lets you remove the caliper past the brake rotor before taking out the c-clamp. Loosen brake caliper pin bolts then secure the caliper with wire support to protect the hydraulic flexible brake hose during removal.
