How to replace the front brake calipers on 2001 Chevrolet Camaro?

Start your project by getting solid brake pressure since moving a vehicle with weak brakes could hurt you. Check the brake master cylinder reservoir to see if its fluid level stands between the two target lines. Drain enough fluid to bring it to the mark in the middle of the reservoir. Place the vehicle on stands and unlatch the tire and wheel unit for replacement. Take off the inlet bolt of the brake caliper and hose from it while disposing of the two copper gaskets stuck to the caliper or hose end. Secure all ports on the brake caliper to keep brake fluid inside the system and remove the mounting bracket bolts from the caliper assembly to pull it free. Check the caliper slide boots for damage then replace them if needed. Install the brake caliper to its mounting bracket and tighten guide pin bolts to 23 ft. lbs. torque. Apply new copper brake hose gaskets in the caliper and hose before installing the brake caliper inlet bolt. Use 50 Nm (37 ft. lbs.) torque setting for fastening the bolt. Release brake fluid from the hydraulic system then put back the tire and wheel unit before lowering the vehicle down.
