How to replace the rear brake calipers on 2002 Chevrolet Camaro?

Before starting the caliper replacement check the brake master cylinder reservoir fluid level. When it sits at the middle point between its full and minimum marks do not drain fluid but if its level is above mid point lower it to the midpoint. Lift the vehicle then unmount the tire and wheel assembly. Separate the attachment bolt of the brake inlet fitting from the caliper before taking out the brake hose. You can discard the two stuck copper brake hose gaskets at the caliper or hose end. Before removing the caliper and mounting bracket tighten a cap over all brake caliper and hose ports to protect internal components. Check the boots which hold the caliper slides for damage then replace them if needed. Install the brake caliper onto its bracket piece and torque the guide pin bolts to 31 Nm (23 ft. lbs.). Insert new copper brake hose gaskets onto the brake caliper and hose then bolt them together with the brake caliper inlet fitting bolt at 55 Nm (41 ft. lbs). Flush the hydraulic brake lines then install the tire and wheel unit before lowering the vehicle.
