How to replace the Hood Latch on the left side on 2001 Chevrolet Corvette?

Begin the replacement of the left side hood primary and secondary latch by detaching the air inlet grille followed by perimeter marking the latch position with a grease pencil. The process starts by removing bolts holding the latch and continuing with removing the cable from the push-in retainer that maintains the cable sheath to the wheelhouse panel. The technician disconnects the cable sheath grommet from the latch as well as the cable end from the latch. The installation begins with inserting the cable end into the latch catch then placing the cable sheath grommet into the slotted hole of the latch. Align the hood latch together with its bolts when you install it into the designated section riding the marked lines. First tighten both hood latch bolts to 10 N.m (89 lb in) and after that reconnect the cable sheath to the push-in retainer before reinstalling the air inlet grille.
