How to Replace a Vehicle Speed Sensor on 2001 Chevrolet Impala?

Start replacing the VSS by first lifting and holding the vehicle while removing the right front wheel assembly including the tire. Unplug the vehicle speed sensor electrical connection and undo the sensor bolt. Take out the vehicle speed sensor from its extension case and remove its O-ring. Install the O-ring onto the vehicle speed sensor before returning the sensor into its place in the extension case. Fasten the vehicle speed sensor bolt securely to 12 Nm (106 inch lbs) torque. Place back the vehicle speed sensor wiring harness and put on the new front wheel and tire. Lower the vehicle after completion.
