How to replace the water pump on 2001 Chevrolet Impala?

Beginning the Water Pump replacement you need to drain the cooling system and detach the Drive Belt guard. Begin by releasing the Water Pump Pulley bolts before eliminating the Drive Belt and the Water Pump Pulley bolts to free the Water Pump Pulley. First disassemble the Water Pump by removing its bolts and the pump itself then proceed by removing the Water Pump Gasket. Prepare the Water Pump mating surfaces while you install both the new gasket and the Water Pump. Secure the Water Pump bolts with a torque of 10 nm (89 inch lbs.). Install the Water Pump Pulley and bolt it into place with a torque of 25 nm (18 inch lbs.). Install the Drive Belt and Drive Belt guard before filling the cooling system and performing leak detection.
