    A: Starting by turning the ignition off, begin the crankshaft position (CKP) sensor (24X) replacement process by removing the serpentine Drive Belt from the Crankshaft Pulley. Start by lifting the vehicle on a hoist before removing the retaining bolt holding the Harmonic Balancer in place. Remove the balancer from its spot afterward. Record the sensor harness routing before unclipping with bolt and removing its electrical connector. The sensor bolts need removal followed by sensor extraction. The installation process involves placing the 24x Crankshaft Position Sensor with bolts while guiding the harness according to removal routing. The harness retaining clip requires installation with bolt while tightening bolts to 10 nm (8 lb ft). Connect the sensor electrical connector, reinstall the balancer on the crankshaft, and apply thread sealer gm #1052080 or equivalent to the threads of the crankshaft Harmonic Balancer bolt, tightening it to 150 nm (110 lb ft). After lowering the vehicle you must reinstall the serpentine Drive Belt then run the ckp system variation learn procedure.
