How to service and repair the front crankshaft seal on 2001 Chevrolet Metro?

The first service step requires continuation of the negative Battery Cable before performing the front Crankshaft Seal repair. Start by taking off the Crankshaft Pulley followed by removal of the Timing Belt. The crankshaft protection requires tape to wrap around the screwdriver tip during crankshaft front oil seal removal. Place chassis grease gm p/n 1051344 or its equivalent on the new front oil seal before lightly tapping it into position with a hammer until the surface touches the retainer edge. The new Timing Belt along with the Crankshaft Pulley needs to be reinstalled. Reconnection of the negative Battery Cable requires fastening the bolt using a torque of 15 nm (11 ft. Lbs.). Finally, start the engine.
