How to replace the Dipstick Tube on 2001 Chevrolet Monte Carlo?

Begin the replacement of the oil level indicator and tube by first unplugging the Spark Plug wire from the neighboring Spark Plug that exists near the oil level indicator tube. Then disconnect the oil level indicator and its tube bracket bolt from the bracket. First you must remove the oil level indicator tube from service. Apply gm sealant p/n 12345739 or equivalent to the oil level indicator tube below its bead by 12.7 mm (0.50 inch). Put the oil level indicator tube into the engine block while following the fastener notice in service precautions. Fasten the bracket bolt of the oil level indicator tube while holding torque at 25 nm (18 ft. Lbs.) and replace the oil level indicator together with the Spark Plug wire to the adjacent Spark Plug.
