How to service and repair the sway bar bushing on 2001 Chevrolet Prizm?

The first step to fix a sway bar bushing requires raising and supporting the vehicle. The front suspension brace and the two nuts (4, 6) should be removed from the system first. You must remove two bolts and a nut along with a stud piece and insulator clamp in sequence. Detach the insulator out from the sway bar shaft. Mount the insulator to the sway bar shaft and fasten it with the clamp. Follow the service precautions on the fastener notice before fastening the clamp to the vehicle with a nut that should be tightened to 19 Nm (14 ft. lbs.). Start by screwing the stud to 147 Nm (109 ft. lbs.) before adding the bolt and securing it at 225 Nm (167 ft. lbs.). After lowering the vehicle proceed with installing the front suspension brace while fastening its studs using two nuts (4, 6) at 69 Nm (51 ft. lbs.).
