How to replace the front wheel speed sensor on 2001 Chevrolet Prizm?

The front Wheel Speed Sensor replacement process begins with wheelhousing removal. The Wheel Speed Sensor works as an entire unit instead of component parts which means you should not tamper with the sensor harness pigtail. Begin by disconnecting the electrical connector from the speed sensor and removing the nut along with the retaining clips that secure the sensor pigtail harness. Start by removing the retaining bolt which secures the Wheel Speed Sensor into the Steering Knuckle. Extract the Wheel Speed Sensor from its mount. Fasten the new Wheel Speed Sensor onto the Steering Knuckle through one screw while tightening it to 8 nm torque value (69 inch lbs.). Fasten the wheel speed wiring harness on the vehicle using the clips and a nut while tightening the pigtail harness nut to a torque of 5 nm (48 inch lbs.). Secure the new Wheel Speed Sensor electrical connector before reinstalling the wheelhousing. Perform a diagnostic system check - abs to complete the procedure.
