How to service the Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS) on the NV 3500 with a manual transmission on 2001 Chevrolet Suburban 1500?

To maintain the NV 3500 VSS on manual transmission you should lift the vehicle and detach the power connector from VSS. Then pull out both the vehicle speed sensor and its O-ring seal. Apply transmission oil on a new O-ring seal before installing it using Synchro-mesh Transmission Fluid GM P/N 12345349 or equivalent oils. Put the O-ring on the vehicle speed sensor assembly before attaching the sensor itself by bolting it in with 16 Nm (12 ft. lbs.) force. Last, plug the electrical cable back into the speed sensor piece and let the vehicle go down.
