2001 Chevrolet Venture Brake Disc Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to replace the rear brake disc on 2001 Chevrolet Venture?
A: Climb and stabilize the vehicle before taking off the tire and wheel. To enable removal of the brake caliper from the rotor you should position a c-clamp above it so that the caliper piston dives into the bore until the brake caliper can slide off the rotator. Before unhooking the Brake Caliper Bracket together with its caliper unit maintain hydraulic flex hose connection and support the caliper using heavy mechanic's wire or equivalent to shield the flexible brake hose from damage. Drill holes into the brake caliper and bracket with the support of straps and heavy gauge wires and detach the brake rotor afterwards. Brake rotor installation requires cleaning of the brake rotor flange using the hub cleaning kit (J42450-A) after removing all corrosion from this area. The Brake Caliper Bracket should be installed back with the caliper before fitting the tire and wheel into position and allowing the vehicle to descend.
