2001 Chevrolet Venture Brake Disc Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the front brake disc on 2001 Chevrolet Venture?
A: First support and lift the vehicle before removing the tire together with the wheel. Secure the c-clamp above the brake caliper so the back of the outboard pad meets the brake caliper bore allowing for brake caliper removal from the rotor. Render the c-clampobsolete before disconnecting the Brake Caliper Bracket along with its brake caliper yet maintaining hydraulic flex hose continuity. Use mechanic's wire of equivalent strength to suspend the brake caliper in order to protect the flexible brake hose from damage. A strap of proper strength together with heavy gauge wire should maintain the brake caliper and its bracket position while taking out the brake rotor. Before installing the brake rotor properly clean the brake rotor flange from corrosion and apply the hub cleaning kit (J42450-A) onto the hub flange to prepare it for new brake rotor installation. Put the tire and wheel back on before lowering the vehicle after installing the Brake Caliper Bracket together with the brake caliper.
