How to Replace Rear Brake Calipers and Brackets on 2001 Chevrolet Venture?

The procedure starts by removing the brake caliper followed by removing brake pads from the Brake Caliper Bracket. Begin by removing the Brake Caliper Bracket bolts then detach the Brake Pad retainers from the Brake Caliper Bracket . After removing the Brake Caliper Bracket you can proceed. Remove brake caliper bolt boots together with brake caliper bolt bushings from the Brake Caliper Bracket. The Brake Caliper Bracket needs replacement if you find either cracks or damage caused by deformation. Scrape away rust and debris through careful cleaning of both the Brake Caliper Bracket and brake pads by using a wire brush. Slot the Brake Caliper Bracket into its position before securing the caliper bracket bolts to 125 nm (92 ft. Lbs.). Apply gm p/n 18010909 silicone grease or equivalent to the Brake Pad retainer contact points at the Brake Caliper Bracket before securing the retainers to the bracket. During installation lubricate the brake caliper bolt bushings before attaching them to the Brake Caliper Bracket and then apply lubrication to the brake caliper bolt boots before installation. Finally, install the brake caliper.
