2001 GMC Jimmy Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the wiper motor on 2001 GMC Jimmy?
A: Start by taking away both wiper arms and air inlet grille panels before attempting to replace the Wiper Motor. Start by detaching the transmission from the Wiper Motor drive link with wiper transmission separator (J 39232) before disconnecting the electrical connector from the Wiper Motor. The Wiper Motor installation requires three screws to be detached from the vehicle's framework. Use three screws to install the Wiper Motor onto the vehicle body while tightening them to 6.5 n.m (57 lb in). Secure the electrical connector after application of gm p/n 9985885 white lithium grease or equivalent on the electrical socket. Assemble the wiper transmission to the crank arm beyond its second detent position which allows completing the seal compression to 25.5 mm (1 inch). You must install the transmission drive link socket using the wiper transmission installer j 39529 onto the Wiper Motor crank arm ball before replacing the air inlet grille panel and wiper arms.
