How to replace the wheel speed sensor in an AWD on 2001 GMC Safari?

To do this job you need to lift the vehicle and take out the wheel from its position. Next, you should disconnect the brake caliper before moving on to separate the hub and the rotor. Take off Wheel Speed Sensor mounting clips both from the Control Arm and frame before detaching its electrical connector. Take the sensor out of its bore without any tools that might damage it. Stay careful not to let dirt from outside reach the sealed bearing lubricant because it will shorten its life. Put the new Wheel Speed Sensor into the hub assembly and bearing space by placing a new o-ring next. Before installation, apply bearing grease lightly to the o-ring. Do not lubricate the bore. Mold the sensor bolts with 18 nm torque before joining the electrical socket and wedging the sensor wire clips onto Control Arm and chassis. Put back the hub and rotor along with the brake caliper and tire wheel assembly.
