How to service and repair the Secondary Air Injection Pump on 2001 GMC Savana 3500?

Before servicing and repairing the Air Injection Pump, one has to first disconnect the Secondary Air Injection (AIR) pump harness connector from the AIR output hoses, from the AIR valve. After that, disassemble the pump from the mounting plate by detaching the bolt of the pump and removing the pump. For the installation, first install the AIR pump ensuring you ve followed the precautions as stipulated in the Fastener Notice in Service Precautions. Then install the AIR pump mounting bolt and torque it to 17 N.m (13 lb ft). Lastly, connect the AIR pump harness connector and the AIR pump output hose to the AIR valve.
