- Q: How to replace the Lash Adjusters on 2002 Buick Century?A: Initially, disconnect the lower Intake Manifold, remove the rocker arms and pushrods for the valves, and finally disconnect the Intake Manifold oil splash shield. Afterward, remove the lifter guide bolts and the valve lifter guides prior to the removal of the valve lifters. Degrease all gasket surfaces and make sure that the parts of the valve train are clean as well. Examine the valve lifters and cam lobes for its wear. Installation instructions: band the lifters with prelube gm p/n 1052367 (Canadian P/N 992869) or equivalent, and place them in similar positions removed before. Then, you should install the lifter guides and the lifter guide bolts ensuring that everything was tightened to 10 nm (89 inch lbs.). Lastly, reinstall Intake Manifold oil splash shield and then valve rocker arms and pushrods and finish the process by installing lower Intake Manifold.
