- Q: How to replace the Lash Adjusters on 2003 Buick Century?A: To replace the valve-lifters, first remove the lower Intake Manifold, and then valve rocker arms, pushrods, and the intake-manifold itself. After that, remove the Intake Manifold oil-splash shield. Next, remove the lifter guide bolts and the valve lifter guides before removing the valve lifters. Clean all surfaces of gaskets with degreaser and also make sure that the valve train parts are clean. Check the valve lifters and cam lobe for wear. For installation, apply prelube gm p/n 1052367 (Canadian P/N 992869) or equivalent to the valve lifters and install them in their original positions. Then install the valve lifter guides and the lifter guide bolts, you could tighten the bolts to 10 nm(89 inch lbs). Finally, re-install the Intake Manifold oil splash shield and followed by the valve rocker arms and pushrods and finish the procedure with the installation of the lower Intake Manifold.
