How to replace the power seat switch on 2002 Buick LeSabre?

The first task before replacing the power seat switch is to disable the SIR system. The seat cushion must be removed to reach the power seat switch while you should keep the lumbar switch knob intact to prevent breakage. The flat bladed tool can be used to gently separate the knobs from their switch positions. The Door Trim Pad Clip Remover (J 38778) allows removal of push-in retainers found under the seat cushion frame before you can detach the power seat switch bezel. The J channel retainers which hold the seat cushion cover to the seat cushion frame must be unfastened to gain access to the power seat switch bracket. The Door Trim Pad Clip Remover (J 38778) enables removal of power seat switch bracket push-in fasteners before pulling out the power seat switch and bracket from the seat cushion frame. Follow these steps to disconnect power seat switch connectors: use flat blades to detach electric cables from power switches and slide the switch out from its bracket. To install the power seat switch position the power seat switch into the bracket before returning wiring harness to its original place and connecting electrical connectors to power seat switches. The seat cushion frame requires the bracket with installed switches to move up before securing the bracket and switches with retainers. The seat cushion cover should be put over the switches while aligning the cover holes to the switch assembly and the power seat switch bezel should be positioned over the switches followed by bezel fastener installation. The power seat switch knobs should be installed next to reattaching the seat cushion while enabling the SIR system.
