  A: To service and repair the Starter motor, first disconnect the negative cable from the battery, raise and support the vehicle. Take the torque converter cover off, then disconnect the battery positive cable from the Starter and the wire from the solenoid s terminal on the Starter. Undo the two Starter motor mounting bolts and remove the Starter motor. To install reinstall the Starter motor in its position and fit the Starter motor mounting bolts; tighten to 43 n.m (32 lb ft). Attach battery positive cable onto Starter, making sure nut is properly tightened 10 n.m (89 lb in). Then, attach the Starter motor s terminal wire, tightening the solenoid s terminal nut to 2.5 n.m (22 lb in) and reinstall torque converter cover. Lastly, place the vehicle on the ground and reattach the negative Battery Cable.
