First detach the torque converter cover with the transmission cooler line clip before disconnecting the Starter motor wiring. The first step of Starter motor replacement requires removing the bolt near the Oil Pan then gradual bolt loosening will allow successful extraction of the Starter unit. The electrical connection process should be done safely by tightening both nuts located by the solenoid battery terminal cap and sd-255 s terminal. To replace the Starter bolt first use it from the old unit before installing the mounting bolts onto the new Starter motor and torquing them to 43 n.m (32 lb ft).
