How to service the EGR valve on 2002 Buick Regal?

Service of the EGR valve requires turning OFF the ignition followed by disconnecting the exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) valve electrical connector. The EGR valve service starts by removing its two retaining nuts and then pulling out the valve. Clean the dust-free EGR valve adapter by removing its gasket then wiping out the adapter assembly. A new gasket should be placed on the EGR adapter before installing the EGR valve with its two nuts secured tightly to 30 N.m (22 lb ft). The EGR valve electrical connector should be reinstalled as the final step.
