The service requires cleaning of the egr mounting area after EGR Valve removal. When installing the EGR Valve, users must first apply a new gasket before valve placement as explained in the fastener notice of service precautions. After securing the EGR Valve with retaining nuts/bolts to 24 n.m (18 lb ft), reinstall the heat shield while securing its nuts to 9 n.m (80 lb in). Connect the EGR Valve electrical connector to its original position as the last step.
