How to replace the HVAC control module on 2002 Cadillac DeVille?

Start by removing the instrument panel center trim plate before HVAC Control Module replacement. You must depress the four locking tabs around the hvac control assembly until they stay depressed while pulling the control unit away from the instrument panel (IP). The hvac control requires its electrical connectors to be disconnected before removal of the hvac control assembly from the instrument panel. Follow these steps during installation: fit the hvac electrical connectors and insert the hvac control assembly into the ip until the retainers activate. Reinstall the trim plate which covers the center portion of the instrument panel when everything is complete.
