Start by disconnecting the position sensor link of the road sensing suspension from the lower Control Arm when present then move on to separate the stabilizer shaft link from the strut retaining nut followed by the stabilizer shaft link removal from the strut. Start by removing three components: brake line bracket to strut retaining bolt and road sensing suspension electrical connector when equipped along with the wheel speed sensor wiring harness bracket mounting bolt. Be careful when manipulating the inner tri-pot joints near the drive axles because long movement will cause undetected internal component separation and possible joint failure. Take care to avoid scratching the protective coating on your front suspension coil spring because deterioration will shorten its lifespan. First eliminate the strut to steering knuckle mounting bolts and upper strut mount to body retaining nuts before extracting the strut. To install the strut return it to its proper position inside the vehicle with special attention to fastener safety guidelines. Secure the upper strut mount to body retaining nuts to 21 nm (15 ft. Lbs.) after you attach the strut with steering knuckle mounting bolts and nuts using 147 nm (108 ft. Lbs. Torque). Wind up by connecting the brake line bracket mounting bolt while the wheel speed sensor wiring harness bracket mounting bolt requires 9 nm (7 ft. Lbs.) torque. When using road sensing suspension follow these steps: connect the electrical connector first and attach the stabilizer link to the strut before tightening the shaft link retaining nut to 55 nm (41 ft. Lbs.). Reinstall the road sensing suspension position sensor to the lower Control Arm followed by installation of tire and wheel and vehicle lowering.
