• Q: How to service and repair the A/C Condenser on 2002 Cadillac Seville?

  A: To service and repair the hvac condenser, do the following: recover the refrigerant of the system. Next, take off the upper filler panel, head lamp and hood latch bracket. Remove the discharge hose and evaporator hose assembly from the condenser, and thereafter remove the condenser mounting bolts. Strip out the left and right sides of the condenser from their retainers and then remove the condenser from the vehicle. For installation, position the condencer in the vehicle with the right side being secured in the retainer and then the left side. Mount the bolts to the condenser and tighten to 13 n.m (10 lb ft). Connect the evaporator hose assembly to the condenser and tighten it to 20 n.m (15 lb ft), and connect the hose for the discharge and tighten it with the same specification. The hood tack bracket and headlamps are remounted and the a/c system is recharged then does a fitting leakage test of the replaced or remounted component using electronic halogen leak detector (J 39400). At last, install the upper filler panel.
