The refrigeration service process begins with recovery of all refrigerant then joint O-ring should be loosened. You can use the Dual O-Ring Tube Separator (J 38042) to split the tubing halves apart and afterward disconnect the A/C Orifice Tube. Before installing the A/C Orifice Tube an O-ring requires application of 525 refrigerant lubricant. The dual O-ring joint should be tightened to 24 N.m (18 lb ft) then the tube needs repositioning to its original alignment. The refrigerant system requires recharging before conducting a leak test on repaired components or replacements through usage of the Electronic Halogen Leak Detector (J 39400).
