The first step when replacing an evaporator hose assembly (LHD) requires recovering all refrigerant from the system. Remove the evaporator hose assembly by disconnecting it from the accumulator, strut tower and evaporator core line fitting then disconnect the temperature sensor's electrical connector. Begin by taking off the upper filler panel then detach the evaporator hose assembly from the condenser before removing the assembly. Knock out the new evaporator hose assembly onto your vehicle before uniting it with the condenser while adjusting the tighten torque to 20 n.m (15 lb ft). Begin by adding the assembly to the evaporator core and accumulator space before tightening it to 20 n.m (15 lb ft). Finish the installation by connecting the assembly to the strut tower before adding the temperature sensor electrical connector. After the a/c system recharge complete the leak test using an electronic halogen leak detector on (J 39400) the repaired or reinstalled component fittings. The final step is the upper filler panel installation.
