- Q: How to replace the A/C Hose assembly (RHD) on 2001 Cadillac Seville?A: To replace the evaporator hose assembly (RHD) one needs to recover the refrigerant from the system. Remove the evaporator hose assembly from the accumulator, strut tower, evaporator core line fitting, and condenser and then remove the temperature sensor electrical connector. Now remove the upper filler panel, master cylinder, and hydraulic Brake Booster before removing the evaporator hose assembly. For installation, first, install the new evaporator hose assembly to the vehicle, and then attach it to the condenser, evaporator core, and accumulator making sure each of them is tightened up to 20 n.m (15 lb ft). Then join evaporator hose assembly to the strut tower, reinstall the master cylinder and hydraulic Brake Booster to be connected again for the temperature sensor electrical connector. Recharge the a/c system, and do a leak test on the fittings of the component reworked or replaced with the electronic halogen leak detector (J 39400); lastly, install the upper filler panel.
