The first step to replace the suction hose in the hvac system consists of recovering refrigerant from the system. The first step requires removal of the suction hose retaining nut from the accumulator before removing the suction hose from the accumulator. After raising and supporting the vehicle remove the front air deflector. Detach the suction hose at the compressor before taking out the suction hose. Begin suction hose replacement by attaching the hose to the compressor unit before tightening it at 20 n.m (15 lb ft). Place the vehicle into its lowered position to attach the suction hose to the accumulator while using the retaining nut which must be tightened to 20 n.m (15 lb ft). After system charging complete the leak check of the repaired component fittings with the electronic halogen leak detector (J 39400). The procedure ends with front air deflector reinstallation.
