2001 Cadillac Seville Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the A/C Condenser in the HVAC system on 2001 Cadillac Seville?
A: The first step before changing an hvac condenser demands refrigerant recovery directly from the system. Begin by taking off the upper filler panel headlamp and hood latch bracket. Begin by disconnecting both discharge hose and evaporator hose assembly from the condenser unit. Then detach the condenser mounting bolts. The left and right condenser retainers need removal before extracting the condenser from the vehicle. Position the right side condenser in its retainer first then place the left side and align the condenser within the vehicle. Secure the condenser mounting bolts with 13 n.m (10 lb ft) of torque force. Begin by screwing the evaporator hose assembly onto the condenser until the torque reaches 20 n.m (15 lb ft). Then connect the discharge hose and apply 20 n.m (15 lb ft) of torque to it. After reinstalling the hood latch bracket and headlamps proceed to recharge the a/c system. After tightening both mounting bolts on the condenser to 13 n.m (10 lb ft), use the electronic halogen leak detector (J 39400) to test the fittings before installing the upper filler panel.
