  A: You start Water Pump replacement by emptying the cooling system then taking off the upper filler panel and components including the air cleaner assembly, secondary air injection control valve and oil level indicator tube. Unfasten the fasteners around the Water Pump belt shield before removing it. Wedge the hose clamp pliers (J38185) between the Water Pump and throttle housing to detach the outlet hose. Unebolt and remove the Water Pump cover to detach its bolts. Afterwards disconnect the heater return hose. Set the Water Pump remover & installer j38816-a on the Water Pump locking ears and fasten the support plate to the water housing crossover to achieve proper alignment. To detach the Water Pump from the vehicle use j38816-a by rotating it clockwise until the pump leaves the housing. Remove the support plate and take out the Water Pump. Clean both sealing surfaces of the water housing crossover and pump cover while checking the Water Pump condition. Unfasten the water crossover seal and inspect it before installation. Place the seal inside the water crossover recess with the locking ear notch position at 7 o'clock. Fit the j38816-a plate over the locking ears of the Water Pump and secure it to the support plate afterward. Twist the j38816-a tool in the opposite direction to tighten the Water Pump to 100 nm (74 ft. Lbs.). Later remove the support plate. Place the Water Pump cover on the heater return hose and secure it to the water housing crossover. Then fasten the cover bolts to 10 nm tension. Insert the radiator outlet hose onto the Thermostat Housing using hose clamp pliers (J38185) then attach the Water Pump Drive Belt. Set the Water Pump belt shield on its position and tighten the fasteners to 10 nm (89 inch lbs.). Afterward screw the oil level indicator tube nut to 10 nm (89 inch lbs.) then put together the secondary air injection control valve parts and end with the cooling system refill.
