How to replace the water pump on Cadillac Seville?

As part of Water Pump replacement the cooling system needs draining first. Unfasten the upper filler panel, air cleaner assembly, air injection control valve and oil level indicator tube nut. Next remove the Water Pump belt cover and Drive Belt along with the Water Pump. Use hart 38185 pliers to disconnect the radiator outlet hose from the thermostat unit. Next remove Water Pump cover bolts and take off the pump cover. Place the Water Pump remover & installer (J 38816-A) tool on the Water Pump locking ears while positioning the support plate to the water housing crossover where the parts engage correctly. Twist the j 38816-a tool counterclockwise to take out the Water Pump from its housing. After that place the support plate aside and carefully remove the Water Pump from the car. Finally withdraw the seal from the water crossover. Inspect and clean both sides of the Water Pump and water housing crossover before checking the Water Pump condition. Place the seal into the water crossover groove so its notched locking ear faces 7 o'clock position while lining up the Water Pump locking ears with the tangs. Mount the j 38816-a onto Water Pump locking ears then add the support plate. Tighten the Water Pump to 74 ft. Lbs. By turning the tool counterclockwise. Put the Water Pump cover onto the heater return hose then place it onto the water housing crossover. Fix the pump cover bolts with 10 nm torque. The hose clamp pliers tool j 38185 connects the radiator outlet hose to the Thermostat Housing before installing the Water Pump belt parts including belt cover and oil level indicator tube nut secured at 10 nm torque. After connecting the upper filler panel and air cleaner assembly apply the final step by filling the cooling system.
