Water Pump

You must start by draining the cooling system before removing upper fill panel, air cleaner parts and secondary air components to access the oil level indicator. First remove the Water Pump belt shield fasteners and later the Water Pump belt shield plus the Water Pump Drive Belt . The hose clamp pliers model j 38185 enables you to disconnect the radiator outlet hose from the Thermostat Housing. Choose to take off both Water Pump cover bolts and the Water Pump cover before detaching the heater return hose. Secure the Water Pump remover & installer model j 38816-a on locking ears of the Water Pump while installing the support plate directly to the crossover water housing to maintain correct contact. First turn the j 38816-a clockwise to extract the pump from the housing. Afterwards disconnect the support plate and handle the Water Pump separately. Clean both sides of the water housing crossover and pump cover before checking the Water Pump. To install the seal simply put it into the water crossover receptacle when you line up the notched locking ear in the 7 o'clock position. Insert the locking ears of the Water Pump into tangs on the water crossover and place the j 38816-a on top before securing the support plate again. Spin the j 38816-a in reverse to pull the Water Pump tightening to 100 nm (74 ft. Lbs.) before taking off the support plate. Fit Water Pump cover to heater return hose and insert it in water housing crossover before tightening Water Pump cover bolts to 10 nm (89 inch lbs). Insert the hose clamp pliers (J 38185) to attach the radiator outlet hose to the Thermostat Housing then put on the Water Pump Drive Belt and position the Water Pump belt shield. Fasten the shield hardware to 10 nm (89 inch lbs). At the conclusion install the oil level indicator tube with 10 nm torque first and afterward put on the secondary air injection control valve alongside the air cleaner assembly and upper filler panel. Additionally refill the cooling system.

Begin by removing fasteners on the Water Pump belt shield and shield itself before proceeding to detach the Water Pump Drive Belt. Hose clamp pliers (J 38185) will disconnect the radiator outlet hose from the Thermostat Housing before the Water Pump cover bolts and cover itself can be removed. Insert the Water Pump remover & installer (J 38816-A) onto the Water Pump locking ears while keeping the support plate connected to the water housing crossover for precise installation. Turn the j 38816-a clockwise to extract the pump from its housing and then remove the support plate and Water Pump. Clean the sealing surfaces of the water housing crossover and pump cover after removing the crossover's seal while checking the Water Pump for any damage. To fit the seal properly position it in the cross-sectional notch of the water crossover with the locking ear set at 7 o'clock and line up the Water Pump's locking ears with the tangs on the water crossover. Lock the j 38816-a tool onto the locking ears of the Water Pump while securing the support plate before turning the tool counterclockwise steadily to achieve a 100 nm (74 ft. Lbs.) torque. The installation requires users to attach the Water Pump cover to the heater return hose before fitting the cover onto the water housing crossover while tightening the cover bolts to 10 nm (89 inch lbs.). Secure the radiator outlet hose to the Thermostat Housing by using hose clamp pliers (J 38185) before you install the Water Pump Drive Belt and place and secure the Water Pump belt shield with a torque of 10 nm (89 inch lbs.). Finally, install the oil level indicator tube nut to 10 nm (89 inch lbs.)the cooling system requires filling after installation of the secondary air injection control valve and air cleaner assembly and upper filler panel.

You start Water Pump replacement by emptying the cooling system then taking off the upper filler panel and components including the air cleaner assembly, secondary air injection control valve and oil level indicator tube. Unfasten the fasteners around the Water Pump belt shield before removing it. Wedge the hose clamp pliers (J38185) between the Water Pump and throttle housing to detach the outlet hose. Unebolt and remove the Water Pump cover to detach its bolts. Afterwards disconnect the heater return hose. Set the Water Pump remover & installer j38816-a on the Water Pump locking ears and fasten the support plate to the water housing crossover to achieve proper alignment. To detach the Water Pump from the vehicle use j38816-a by rotating it clockwise until the pump leaves the housing. Remove the support plate and take out the Water Pump. Clean both sealing surfaces of the water housing crossover and pump cover while checking the Water Pump condition. Unfasten the water crossover seal and inspect it before installation. Place the seal inside the water crossover recess with the locking ear notch position at 7 o'clock. Fit the j38816-a plate over the locking ears of the Water Pump and secure it to the support plate afterward. Twist the j38816-a tool in the opposite direction to tighten the Water Pump to 100 nm (74 ft. Lbs.). Later remove the support plate. Place the Water Pump cover on the heater return hose and secure it to the water housing crossover. Then fasten the cover bolts to 10 nm tension. Insert the radiator outlet hose onto the Thermostat Housing using hose clamp pliers (J38185) then attach the Water Pump Drive Belt. Set the Water Pump belt shield on its position and tighten the fasteners to 10 nm (89 inch lbs.). Afterward screw the oil level indicator tube nut to 10 nm (89 inch lbs.) then put together the secondary air injection control valve parts and end with the cooling system refill.

Remove the water pump cover bolts and the cover.

Remove the upper filler panel, air cleaner assembly, secondary AIR injection control valve, and the oil level indicator tube nut.

Align the water pump's locking ears with the tangs in the water crossover, position the J38816-A again, and fasten the support plate.

After removing the support plate, connect the water pump cover to the heater return hose, install the water pump cover to the water housing crossover, and tighten the pump cover bolts to 10 Nm (89 inch lbs.).

First, drain the cooling system.

Remove the upper filler panel, air cleaner assembly, secondary AIR injection control valve, and the oil level indicator tube nut.

Remove the upper filler panel, air cleaner assembly, and AIR injection control valve, then take off the oil level indicator tube nut, water pump belt cover, and water pump drive belt.
