How to replace the ABS Control Module on 2002 Chevrolet Camaro?

A user must confirm the ignition switch points to OFF before starting any ABS Control Module (ABSCM) replacement to stop equipment harm. Begin with the lock tab pull-out from the ABSCM harness connector then unplug both the ABSCM harness connector and pump motor connector which are rooted at the lowest point of the ABSCM. When removing the ABSCM from the Brake Pressure Modulator Valve (BPMV) avoid causing any damage to the solenoid valves and the seal. The ABSCM installation requires you to extract the 6 attaching screws to disconnect it from the BPMV before prying the ABSCM carefully away from the BPMV. The ABS/TCS-equipped vehicles need the discarding of two wave springs between ABSCM and BPMV while vehicles with ABS should discard one wave spring. Install the necessary number of new wave springs on the BPMV gasket using denatured alcohol and a clean rag according to the removed part sections to reassemble the device. The ABSCM should mate with the BPMV while tightening the top 4 mounting screws at 2.9 Nm (26 inch lbs.) through an X pattern followed by proper torque tightening of the bottom 2 screws. Connect the pump motor connector to the bottom of the ABSCM before attaching the ABSCM harness connector with proper tab insertion. The procedure ends with ignition switch positioning at RUN while the engine remains off followed by execution of Diagnostic System Check - ABS.
