How to remove and install the ABS Control Module on Chevrolet Camaro?

Begin the ABS Control Module (ABSCM) removal process only when the ignition switch shows OFF to safeguard equipment. Unlock the tab on the ABSCM harness connector and then disconnect both the ABSCM harness connector and the pump motor connector that is found at the bottom of the ABSCM. Using caution to protect the solenoid valves and seal we will get rid of the six screws which connect ABSCM to BPMV and discard them. Separate the ABSCM from the BPMV with gentle force while making note of the wave spring position for the correct reinstall. System operations that include ABS only require removal of one wave spring between ABSCM and BPMV but ABS/TCS systems require removal of two wave springs that need to be discarded. Clean the BPMV gasket area on the surface by using alcohol poured onto a clean rag before installing. For systems with ABS only use one wave spring at the identified ABSCM to BPMV interface; ABS/TCS systems require two wave springs installed in the same way. Refitting the ABSCM to the BPMV starts with tightening the top four mounting screws to 2.9 Nm (26 inch lbs.) in an X pattern before securing the bottom two mounting screws to the same torque. The pump motor connector requires connection to the ABSCM's bottom end before applying the ABSCM harness connector with proper tab insertion. After switching off the ignition to the RUN position you must run the A Diagnostic System Check - ABS.
