• Q: How to replace the water pump on 2002 Chevrolet Camaro?

  A: Before installing the new Water Pump you must partially drain the Radiator by opening the Radiator drain cock and closing the drain after tightening it to 2 nm (18 inch lbs.). First loosen the Water Pump Pulley bolts then remove the accessory Drive Belt. After moving the Radiator inlet hose clamp into position detach the hose from the Water Pump. First remove the Water Pump per bolts and pulley then proceed to take out the Water Pump assembly along with the existing gasket. Thoroughly check the Water Pump components before adding the new Water Pump Gasket and components. Use the j 36660-a torque/angle meter to add 80° of manual turning pressure when tightening the Water Pump bolts to 15 nm (11 ft. Lbs.). Shift the Radiator inlet hose into position at the Water Pump before you fasten the Water Pump Pulley and its bolts. Fit the accessory belt in place followed by correct tightening of Water Pump bolts before adjusting the Water Pump Pulley bolts to 13 nm (115 inch lbs.) while adding engine coolant.
