How to replace the negative battery cable on 2002 Chevrolet Cavalier?

To replace the negative Battery Cable, you first need to disconnect it, remove the air intake duct and resonator. Snip the tape that connects the two cables on the retainer on the battery tray and near the transmission electrical plug. Take off the wire harness retainer nut near the rear of the engine and set the wire retainer to one side. Next, undo the bolt securing the cable to the battery tray and the negative Battery Cable ground stud from the engine block then the actual negative Battery Cable itself. Install it by placing the new cable to the vehicle, installing the ground stud through the negative cable into the engine block, and tightening it up to 25 n.m (18 lb ft). Sit position the engine wire harness retainer onto the ground stud, install the wire harness retainer nut and tighten it to 18 n.m (13 lb ft). Connect the negative Battery Cable, install the bolt to retain the negative Battery Cable to the battery tray, tape the cables together at the battery tray and the transmission electrical plug and install the air cleaner resonator and outlet duct.
